VISIVRA Review: What’s Inside, What the Research Says, and Who It Fits

SV Smart Value Guide Editorial Team ·7 min read ·Published September 2026

Short answer: VISIVRA has lutein and zeaxanthin, the two carotenoids with the best evidence for the macula, plus zinc. It leaves out most of the rest of the AREDS2 formula and publishes no doses. Here’s who that works for.

Quick verdict

Our evidence rating: 2.8 / 5 — the right carotenoids, but most of the AREDS2 formula is missing and no doses are published.

  • Lutein and zeaxanthin, the carotenoids AREDS2 recommends, are in the formula
  • Vitamin C, vitamin E and copper from the AREDS2 formula are not
  • No dose is published for any ingredient, and the source of its “Vitamin A” isn’t stated

A good fit if…

You mainly want lutein and zeaxanthin for everyday visual comfort (screens, glare), you’ve never smoked, and you haven’t been diagnosed with AMD.

Skip it if…

You have diagnosed intermediate AMD and need the AREDS2 formula at tested doses, you smoke or used to, or you want to know exactly how much of each ingredient you’re taking.

The Ingredients

What’s actually in it

The official page lists six ingredients: lutein, zeaxanthin, bilberry extract, astaxanthin, zinc and vitamin A. It doesn’t show a supplement facts panel or any doses, so the table below compares each ingredient with what research has actually tested, not with what’s in the capsule.

IngredientWhat the research showsEvidence
Lutein & ZeaxanthinIn a one-year placebo-controlled trial, daily lutein and zeaxanthin raised macular pigment and improved contrast and recovery from glare. AREDS2 recommends them in place of beta-carotene.Supported
ZincPart of the AREDS formula that slowed progression of intermediate AMD, at 80 mg a day. VISIVRA’s dose isn’t stated.Dose unknown
Vitamin ASource not stated. If it’s beta-carotene, large trials linked it to higher lung cancer risk in smokers, which is why AREDS2 dropped it.Caution
Bilberry extractSmall trials found less screen-related eye fatigue on some measures. The more rigorous trials for night vision were negative.Limited
AstaxanthinOnly small, short trials on eye fatigue, usually combined with other ingredients.Limited
Key Finding

After a year of daily lutein and zeaxanthin, participants had higher macular pigment and better chromatic contrast and recovery from bright light than the placebo group. Glare disability itself did not significantly improve.

The Gaps

What’s missing compared with AREDS2

AREDS2, the largest trial in this category, tested a specific combination: vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, copper, lutein and zeaxanthin. VISIVRA covers three of those six. Vitamin C, vitamin E and copper are missing. Copper matters because high-dose zinc can lower copper levels, which is why the AREDS formulas pair the two.

That doesn’t make VISIVRA useless. It makes it a carotenoid-focused eye supplement, not an AREDS2-style formula, and it shouldn’t be used as a substitute for one. Our AREDS2 evidence review has the full formula and doses.

No Doses Published

You can’t check the amounts

AREDS2 used 10 mg of lutein and 2 mg of zeaxanthin a day. Without a supplement facts panel, there’s no way to know whether VISIVRA is close.

Unclear Vitamin A

Source not stated

If it comes from beta-carotene, smokers and former smokers have a specific reason to avoid it. The label doesn’t say.

Worth Knowing

About the sales page

The page behind VISIVRA’s official link is written by the seller in the style of an independent review, with headings like “VISIVRA Reviews” and “Is VISIVRA still worth it in 2026?”. It’s a sales page, not a third-party review.

It also says users may notice less eye strain “within days.” In the studies behind these ingredients, changes were measured after six weeks to a year of daily use. Expect weeks, not days.

In Practice

What this means practically

If what you want is more lutein and zeaxanthin in your day, especially for comfort with screens and bright light, VISIVRA contains the right carotenoids. What the label can’t tell you is how much. Before ordering, it’s reasonable to ask the seller (support@visivra.com) for the supplement facts panel and the source of its vitamin A.

If you’ve been diagnosed with intermediate AMD, this isn’t the product to rely on. Ask your eye doctor about a formula that matches the AREDS2 doses.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does VISIVRA work?
It contains lutein and zeaxanthin, which have real evidence for raising macular pigment and improving contrast and glare recovery. Its other ingredients have limited evidence, and no doses are published, so we can’t say whether it matches the amounts that were studied.
Is VISIVRA an AREDS2 formula?
No. It’s missing vitamin C, vitamin E and copper from the AREDS2 formula, and its doses aren’t published.
Can it help with eye strain from screens?
Lutein, zeaxanthin and bilberry have small supportive trials for visual comfort and eye fatigue. The changes were measured after weeks of daily use, not days.
Is VISIVRA safe for smokers?
The label doesn’t say whether its vitamin A comes from beta-carotene. Beta-carotene supplements were linked to higher lung cancer risk in smokers, so smokers and former smokers should confirm the source with the seller first.
Are the reviews on the VISIVRA website independent?
No. The page is the seller’s own sales page, written in a review style.
Is it safe to take with other medications?
Zinc can reduce the absorption of some antibiotics, and other ingredients may interact with medications. Check with a pharmacist or doctor before starting.
What’s the refund policy?
The official page promises a full refund within 60 days if you are not satisfied. Contact support@visivra.com and keep your order details.
Where can you buy VISIVRA?
It’s sold through the official product page, which is also where to confirm current pricing and the guarantee.

The bottom line

VISIVRA gets the most important part right for everyday eye comfort: lutein and zeaxanthin. It isn’t an AREDS2 formula, it publishes no doses, and its sales page is dressed up as a review. If you want a simple carotenoid supplement and you don’t smoke, it’s a reasonable option to try under a 60-day guarantee. If you have diagnosed AMD, ask your eye doctor about an AREDS2 formula instead.
